Polycity is one the many projects that is being implemented within the framework of the CONCERTO initiative. A new settlement with a population of 10,000 in Cerdanyola (Spain), improvement of existing buildings to raise energy efficiency standards which will affect 2500 citizens in Arquata (Italy), and renovation and new constructions in Scharnhauser Park (Germany) are three aspects of the Polycity Project. The Scharnhauser Park Project is designed as an ecological settlement responding to many needs, such as residential buildings, working areas, social services, green areas etc. It encompasses 3500 residential units on an area of 140 hectares, and it is estimated that energy savings of 30% will be achieved and that 80% of energy consumption will be supplied by renewable energies. › more
